Arriva has an eight-year contract to operate railway services in Central and West Jutland (2003-2010), and the Danish Transport Authority is responsible for monitoring the contractor's performance.
Furthermore, the Danish Transport Authority pays out possible bonuses awarded or collect fines imposed.
The actual timetable is Arriva’s responsibility, but the Danish Transport Authority ensures that it meets the contractual demands regarding:
- the number of trains
- the intervals between the trains
- the earliest departure scheduled in the morning
- the last train scheduled in the evening
- the number of departures from each station
Contract 2010-2018
Arriva’s contract expires in 2010, but 25 March 2009 the Danish Transport Authority signed a new contract with Arriva.
Arriva will thus operate the railway services in Central and West Jutland from 2010 till 2018.
