Safety and Interoperability
The Danish Transport Authority regulates and enforces provisions in the fields of safety and interoperability.
In September 2009, the Safety & Interoperability Unit of Danish Transport Authority launched its new website. Our new site caters for the needs of the Danish railway sector in terms of providing and structuring information about the regulatory framework, procedures, conditions, international cooperation. Furthermore we focus on the future railway, and the dialogues and consultations between the sector and Danish Transport Authority, and the role of the Danish Transport Authority in connection with The Rail Net Denmark Signalling Programme.
The Danish site is divided into the following main sections:
Each main section is divided into a number of sub-sections that explain in detail the regulatory framework, procedures and conditions related to the main section in question. Moreover, the sub-sections link to relevant legislation, fact sheets and guidelines.
Infrastructure Manager and Railway Undertaking
These pages provide information about procedures and conditions for issuing licences, authorisations, safety certificates and safety authorisations.
Others
This page provides information to railway sector actors who are not infrastructure managers or railway undertakings. It is particularly relevant for actors who need information on how to obtain an authorisation.
International Cooperation
Here you may find information about the international fora under the auspices of the EU and the UN that draft and decide on the ever-increasing regulatory framework within the fields of safety and interoperability. The Danish Transport Authority participates in these fora with a view to promoting Danish interests.
The Future Railway
The site describes short, middle and long-term projects and certain key legislation within the fields of safety and interoperability.
Dialogues and consultations
This is where you find information about various fora, dialogues and consultations between the railway sector and the Danish Transport Authority. E.g. technical fora, strategic fora, and the annual safety conference hosted by Danish Transport Authority.
The Rail Net Denmark Signalling Programme
These pages provide information about the role of the Danish Transport Authority in connection with the equipment of the new signalling system on the Rail Net Denmark infrastructure - including Q&A as well as cooperation between the Danish Transport Authority and interested parties.
