Dear all,
As of today, with the new Internal Regulation of ANAC (the Portuguese CAA), the Medical Certification Department was extinct.
As no individualized section, dealing with the tasks that were allocated to the ex-DCM, was created, these tasks were put under the direct responsibility of the Director of Licensing and Examination, Dr. Monica Oliveira.
Although, in practice, no significant changes in our daily work are expected, there is one major issue, with great impact that you must take caution:
- When sending physical correspondence, containing clinical information, subject to medical confidentiality, and that was previously redirected to our former Department, you must be aware that this type of mail will now be open by the front desk and the confidentiality will be lost.
We sometimes receive medical records from other EASA AME’s by post office, so please warn your AME’s about this fact, and if they are sending any medical confidential documents, they must send it in my name, and write “Personal” on the envelope, to ensure that there is no breach in confidentiality.
Sending by e-mail to our staff is preferable: marcos.miranda@anac.pt as Medical Assessor, our former Department mailbox dcm@anac.pt and/or Susana.fernandes@anac.pt, filipa.nunes@anac.pt and Sandra.venceslau@anac.pt
